Skyclad

The English Folk/Thrash band Skyclad are considered the founders of Folk Metal. They play an energetic Thrash/Folk hybrid complete with a violin; there are also more soothing songs on many of their albums were the Thrashy vocals are replaced by a softer singing. Their lyrics consist mainly of political, ethical and social commentary or messages and their album titles, lyrics and song names often contain puns or word play, ex: songs like "Kiss My Brass" and "Bombjour!" Skyclad are band that can be appreciated by any fan of Thrash or Folk and probably by most of the Metal community itself. Note: The No Daylights Nor Heeltaps is a best-of compilation where they redid old songs with their new singer who joined after their old singer left after in 2001 (he last appeared on Folkemon).

Enjoy.
